To Aru Hikūshi e no Tsuioku Movie

To Aru Hikūshi e no Tsuioku (Flashbacks to a Certain Aerial Pilot) is a story revolves around Charles Karino, a Revaamu Empire mercenary aerial pilot who mans the twin-seater reconnaissance seaplane Santa Cruz. One day, he receives a preposterous assignment: to fly solo over 12,000 kilometers of enemy waters to protect a girl named Fana del Moral. Fana happens to be the next in line to the empire's throne.
Shishido directed The Story of Saiunkoku and Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger before tackling this project. Satoko Okudera (Summer WarsThe Girl Who Leapt Through Time) wrote the new film's screenplay, and Hidenori Matsubara (Ah! My Goddess/Sakura Wars character designer, newEvangelion films' animation director) adapted its character designs from Haruyuki Morisawa's original novel illustrations. The TMS Entertainment-produced film will open this fall.
